Risk Tool

A tool to help companies buy legal forest products

The Risk Tool, a project of the Forest Legality Alliance in cooperation with partners around the world, helps users ask informed questions about where their forest products come from and what issues a buyer might encounter. Information about forest products and legality is presented by country and by species.

Risk Tool Country Profiles

Recent forest product import laws in the United States, European Union and Australia require buyers to understand the laws governing forest products in the countries where they are sourced. The country profiles provide information on the forest estate and forestry sector, the relevant national laws and policies, the relevant international law as it applies in the individual country, and local contacts who can serve as further sources of information.
